Return / Exchange Policy

At Handheld Studio, we specialize in camcorder rentals for weddings, events, and special moments. Because our products are rentals, not retail purchases, traditional returns and exchanges do not apply.

Please review the policy below to understand how cancellations, issues, and damages are handled.

1. No Returns or Exchanges

All items rented through Handheld Studio are provided for temporary use and must be returned at the end of the agreed rental period.

Because these are rental items:

  • We do not offer returns for refunds once a rental period has started
  • We do not offer exchanges once equipment has shipped or been delivered
  • We do not accept returns in place of rental payments

If you are unsure about which product to rent, please contact us before placing your order. We’re happy to help guide you.

2. Cancellations

We understand that plans can change.

  • Cancellations made before shipment may be eligible for a partial or full refund, depending on timing.
  • Once equipment has shipped, the rental is considered active and non-refundable.

3. Equipment Issues or Malfunctions

We thoroughly inspect and test all equipment before shipment. However, if you experience a malfunction:

  1. Contact us immediately at hello@handheldstudio.com
  2. Provide a description of the issue
  3. Share photos or video if possible

If the issue is verified as a mechanical malfunction and not user-related damage, we will work quickly to resolve the situation, which may include:

  • Remote troubleshooting
  • Replacement equipment (if timing allows)
  • Partial refund or rental credit at our discretion

4. Damaged, Lost, or Late Returns

Rented equipment must be returned on time and in the condition received, normal wear and tear excepted.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Physical damage
  • Water damage
  • Theft or loss
  • Missing components
  • Late returns

Fees for damage, loss, or late returns are outlined in our Equipment Rental Agreement.

5. Condition Upon Return

All returned items are inspected upon receipt. If damage or missing components are identified, we will notify you and provide an itemized breakdown of applicable charges.

6. Questions Before Booking?

Because we do not offer returns or exchanges, we strongly encourage customers to:

  • Review product descriptions carefully
  • Confirm event dates before booking
  • Reach out with any technical questions
